Domestic woods are local woods that are suitable for callmaking. Although not as durable as exotic woods or acrylic, domestic woods provide a cost effective option. Appropriate species include hedge, locust, and hard maple. $75
Exotic woods are dense, have a high oil content and provide a good sounding surface. A great option for traditional wood calls.
Commonly used exotic wood species are African Blackwood, Cocobolo, Tigerwood and others depending on availability. $100-$125
Stabilized woods have resin injected into the pores of the wood which minimizes changes in the wood due to moisture and temperature. It produces a highly durable product. Many stabilized woods are highly figured and each piece is unique. All of our stabilized woods are commercially stabilized by K&G stabilizing services. Commonly used for barrels and paired with acrylic stoppers. $125-$135
Cast acrylic is the gold standard for waterfowl calls. It holds tone well and has minimal change with use and abuse. If you are hard on your equipment or hunt in extreme environments this is the material for you. Available in a wide variety of colors. Call to see what colors we have in stock. $125
Micarta is a composite material often called "the steel of plastic industry". It is often sleeved with acrylic or paired with acrylic stoppers. We mostly use brown and black canvas micarta in our calls. Subject to availability. Makes a great collection grade call. $200-$250
